HOMEMADE CHAR SIU(CHINESE PORK BBQ)
Marinade:
1/4 c hosin
1/4 c honey
1/4 c light brown sugar
1/4c Chinese rice wine
2 Tbs of oyster sauce
2 Tbs of light soy sauce
2Tbs of ketchup
3 large cloves of cloves of garlic minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2tsp of Chinese 5 spice
Red food coloring(optional)
Marinade whatever meat you want for at least an hour Pork and chicken thighs are some of my favorites. I used Boston butt steaks.
Roast in the oven at 350° for 45 mins in a parchment paper packet.
With the remaining marinade, pour into a small sauce pan and reduce to make a glaze.
Best served on rice.
